Music
Recent / in progress:
Wrote this in March. New mix with strings and a few minor corrections. Next: drums and another guitar, or…?
Another new one, just the guide guitar and temporary vocals (I’ll replace this with the real thing eventually…)
Rough acoustic protest song from mid-’25, it’ll have to do until I finish the electric version…
Here’s a generic holiday song from ‘24! It’s also on the Brakes What Brakes Bandcamp page.
From CDs:
From What’s Up Down There, 2018.

From Burning My Cashmere, 2004
Improvisations:
‘Approximations’ are about halfway between a piece and a free improvisation. This is one of those, from 2019.
Another semi-improvisation from 2015. Mikey the cat liked to lie on the piano while I played.
Free Improvisation, 1989.
Here’s a old demo I found:
Bed Time, 1990. A genuine kid-tested lullaby! There’s a better version out there on piano.
Old piano compositions:
A short piece from 1980. There were a lot of those, some more precisely defined than others.
Another from around then.
Not really a piece? Improvising on a riff I’d just come up with and never revisited except to edit a few bits out.
One day in the way early 80s, while I was working on "Solo Piano in an Otherwise Quiet Room", the composer Dylan Champagne arrived, offering a series of percussive enhancements that left me no choice but to change the title. The bit at 1:14 was a mistake I managed to fake my way out of.
1979. part exercise, part meditation.
